The thing that can change everything…
Love. God’s love. You are His child. He loves you no matter what. In His love, He keeps no record of wrongs. His love finds us at our lowest point. It surrounds us, comforts us, fills us with His supernatural power, gives us hope, shows us the way out, and reveals our true value to us.
He [the Lord] found him in a desert land and in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye… (Deut 32:10)
Things change when…
Things change when you accept God’s love. When you let it allow you to let go of what is holding you back – regret, sin, anger, unforgiveness, discontentment, hurt, fear. God’s love can impact the world around you. It can motivate you to rise above your busy schedule, your fears, and the challenges in your life to be a blessing to someone. Showing love to people is God’s will for your life.
So, here’s The Challenge…
This Thanksgiving week, I have a challenge for you. And this is it: show someone a little love. Or tell them how thankful for them you are. It doesn’t have to be a big production. It could be as simple as washing someone’s coffee mug without being asked and without telling them about it. It could be giving a word of encouragement or a compliment.
Fight the Fear
I am so grateful when someone does something for me out of love. Actions and words of love are little gifts in our busy days. But it can be scary to put yourself out there and do it. It seems like every time I get an idea to do something good for someone, my mind tries to convince me otherwise. I start thinking that it is stupid, or that doing it won’t matter. It helps boost my confidence if I remember how grateful I am when someone does something for me out of love.
You have to be fearless. You have to take a risk. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (2 Tim 1:7)
Watch this video for a little encouragement.
This video helps me fight my fears and have the courage to come out of my corner. It lights a fire in me. It gives me the last bit of confidence I need to go out and do it. It only takes a minute to watch. It’s a car commercial, but it has a great message.
Let’s be fearless together…
Recently, I was completely impressed by how amazing and selfless one of my neighbors is. I was telling other people how awesome I thought she was, and then I realized that I needed to tell her. So this week, I’m going to call her “out of the blue” and tell her how proud of her I am.
Join with me. What are you going to do?
Don’t overthink it, just do it. It will change relationships. Take an extra step and share this message with someone else and encourage them to join in too.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!! I hope you have a wonderful holiday!
